We talked of jazz and bebop

He regaled me with jazzer days

And showed me through his record collection

My eyes Popped out of my head!!

Ah, I Iooked forward to many more times like that

To hear his stories, share a passion

He may be gone, but when I listen to Mingus, Monk, Davis - he's there in the riffs, the movements

He was a bebop beatnik 'til the last
